Meet our wonderful Medical Director, Dr. Kusuma, who is widely recognized as the “Face Surgeon of Florida!” Dr. Kusuma holds dual board certifications from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He earned his medical degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He then completed specialty training in general surgery and otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.He initially received board certification in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery from the American Board of Otolaryngology. Following this, he pursued a fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Dr. Kusuma possesses extensive experience in facial and neck procedures, including skin care, laser treatments, and various cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. With a robust background in facial cosmetic surgery, nasal surgery, breast surgery, and advanced skin care services, Dr. Kusuma established his private practice in South Florida in 2010. Now, with 16 years of practice, his expertise is well-established. He specializes in comprehensive facial rejuvenation and breast surgery, offering procedures such as face and neck lifts, upper and lower eyelid surgery, brow lifts, rhinoplasty, fat grafting, laser resurfacing, fillers, Botox, breast augmentation, reduction, lifts, revisions, and implant exchanges.
Dr. Kusuma is passionate about education and lifelong learning. He mentors students at various stages, from high school to college, medical school, residency, and fellowships. Katie Annen, a distinguished Family Nurse Practitioner with over 18 years in healthcare, excels in disease prevention, anti-aging, and aesthetic treatments.
She is a master injector, specializing in advanced procedures such as lip, cheek, jawline, and temple injections, as well as neck contouring and skin texture enhancements. Her expertise extends to neuromodulator injections (including Botox and Dysport), dermal fillers (like Juvederm and Restylane), and innovative treatments like Poly-L-Lactic Acid injections and Polydioxanne (PDO) threads for facial contouring and lifting.
Katie’s proficiency in Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BIHRT) and functional medicine complements her aesthetic skills. She employs cutting-edge technologies like Morpheus 8, Candela GentleMax Pro laser, and Intense Pulse Light (IPL) therapies for comprehensive skin care. Additionally, she provides intravenous therapies, including Glutathione and Myer’s Cocktail, to enhance overall wellness and beauty from within. Holding a Master’s in Nursing from Metropolitan State University and a Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing from Winona State University, Katie is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Brian P. Jakes, Jr. , Integrative Medicine, Board Certified
Dr Jakes brings an extraordinary combination of both clinical and academic experience to our practice. Trained in both Integrative and Internal Medicine with over 25 years of experience, he has successfully treated countless thousands of patients with very complex diseases and conditions. He maintains three board certifications in the areas of Integrative Medicine, Natural Medicine and Alternative Medicine as well as contributed to the writing of the National Board Certification Exam for Integrative Medicine.
He has personally developed successful Integrative Medicine protocols for not only common chronic diseases and conditions, but has created protocols for conditions which do not have any known conventional medicine treatments. This is due to his diverse training and education and many years in research and writing for professional online journals.
However, he offers considerable expertise in all areas of endocrinology with an emphasis on Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy as well as sexual dysfunction treatments for both men and women.
Dr Jakes is extensively trained and educated in advanced systemic Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. Not only has he trained many physicians and practitioners in the proper use of PRP, but as done both corrective and revisionary procedures, especially in non-invasive scar repair.
He also offers specialized Anti-Aging Medicine treatments, which have shown clinical evidence of possible age slowing and reversal. He is also fully versed in the expert use of Peptide Therapy, which can target a number of medical conditions and offer benefits that even medications and supplements can’t accomplish.
Additionally, he has personally designed various IV therapies to target both specific medical diseases and conditions. Dr Jakes has also been involved in various nutritional supplement design and has personally created three successful diabetic supplements.
